Quick Check List for Fire Extinguishers:
Check Weight of Fire Extinguisher matches weight on data sticker.
Gauge is in good condition and showing it is charged.
If a power Fire Extinguisher ensure powder hasn’t hardened on the bottom of the Cylinder.
Inspect Hose and Horn (If Applicable) ensure O-rings haven’t perished and the hose is in good working order.
Ensure Fire Extinguisher isn’t past expiry date.
Quick Check List for Fire Hose Reels:
Check Flow Rate
Condition of the reel – ensure you can read the instructions on the reel.
Hose Reel is well secured.
Maintenance Tag fitted and stamped in date.
Unroll 5mtrs of hose and inspect hose wear, or if a 12months inspection, the hose needs to be unrolled to the full length to check no flat spots on the end of the hose etc.
Installed min 1.5mtr above the ground no more than 2.4mtrs.
Sign above or adjacent to FHR placed 2000mm ABFL visible from 20mtrs – Right angle signs maybe required.
Cabinets need to have a sign saying FIRE HOSE REEL in lettering min of 50mm high.
Reels in cabinets need a min of 100mm clearance and 60mm clearance for stop valve.
